May 28: Dialogo (Im)probable. Accessibility in Air Transport: Challenges and Opportunities

Next Tuesday, May 28, at 4:00 PM, we will host a new (im)probable dialogue in collaboration with Iberia.

This dialogue will take place at the Espacio Iberia, recently opened at Gran Vía 48, where we will jointly explore how to make air transport more accessible for people with physical or intellectual disabilities, as well as how to achieve greater traveler autonomy and a more inclusive service.

What we’ll discuss…

From purchasing tickets to the actual flight, including baggage check-in, transportation to and within the airport, the experience for people with disabilities can be a journey in itself.

What are the challenges of making air transport accessible? What innovative actions are different aviation stakeholders taking to improve accessibility in aviation? How can airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and digital service designers collaborate with each other and with users to co-create a more accessible aviation experience?

To address these issues and create a better travel experience for everyone, we will speak with:

  • Manuel Vinagre, Director of External Services at AENA
  • Gabriel Barroso, Industrial Engineer at Airbus

  • Santiago Ruiz, Director of Universal Accessibility at Fundación ONCE

The dialogue will be moderated by Ainhoa Serrano, Social Impact Manager at Iberia, and Xavier Mascarell, Customer Accessibility Strategy Manager at British Airways.

The session will run until 6:00 PM and will feature active participation from representatives of different disability groups, as well as the entire aviation value chain.
