
itdUPM is an interdisciplinary centre of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, bringing together researchers, professors and students to address the Sustainable Development Goals.
We work in collaboration with specialists from various areas of expertise, the public and private sectors, civil society organisations and governments in order to address complex problems related to sustainability and to co-create practical solutions.
The itdUPM community has more than 200 members, including professors, researchers, students, external consultants, etc. In addition, there are several affiliated UPM research and cooperation groups.

Since the late 1990s, UPM has promoted applied research in human development. As a result, a number of research groups were created in the field of human development.
In 2010, the Master in Technology for Human Development was launched – which in 2016 became the Official Joint Master in Strategies and Technologies for Development, together with the Complutense University of Madrid.
In 2012, the Centre for Innovation in Technology for Human Development (itdUPM) was formally created.
In 2016, the UPM joined the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN), comprised of universities from over 20 countries to incorporate sustainability into research, teaching and the campus itself.
