Spanish Scale (citiES2030)

Spanish Scale (citiES2030)

Objective

CitiES 2030 is the Spanish platform of the European Mission for Smart and Climate-Neutral Cities, which brings together a multi-stakeholder community of urban innovation to advance towards climate neutrality by 2030 in Spanish cities. The platform offers services for meeting, learning, and implementing systemic solutions for decarbonization. It also promotes collaboration between cities and between different levels of public administration to overcome the barriers that cities face in their urban transformation processes.

Our role

The Technical University of Madrid, through itdUPM, coordinates citiES 2030 together with ClimateKIC. In particular, we provide an interdisciplinary approach and the ability to generate spaces for collaborative innovation in the face of urban challenges. We support cities in the design and implementation of their roadmaps for climate neutrality, strengthening capacities, promoting mutual learning, and facilitating the development of urban laboratories as spaces for co-creation, governance, and experimentation.
