Summer School cities2030: Mission Possible. Building the cities we want

From July 15-17, citiES2030 will organize the third edition of the summer course in Santander. This annual event will be a meeting place for organizations involved or interested in the mission.

This year’s course is framed in the implementation phase of the European Mission of Cities. Through this meeting, spaces are created to work collaboratively, learn from practical examples, and develop key skills and knowledge to lead the change towards more sustainable cities.

What will be covered in the course?

The course program will revolve around the following key themes: strengthening political commitment to ensure the continuity and success of the Mission; addressing strategic communication to effectively engage citizens and other stakeholders; working on the financing of mission projects, ensuring adequate resources; addressing capacity building, developing essential skills and knowledge; and deepening energy rehabilitation, working on the deployment of projects such as URBANEW and EU CINCO 2.0EU CINCO 2.0.

This course, now in its third edition, has become an annual meeting with municipalities, companies, social organizations and professionals directly or indirectly involved in the mission. In the two previous editions, the course has worked on planning, construction of roadmaps and investment plans within the framework of the Climate Agreements, in addition to strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Every step taken, every learning and every challenge overcome has represented small steps towards climate neutrality and desired cities. Now, building on the achievements and knowledge gained, they are better equipped and accompanied than ever to meet the challenges ahead.
