The school as a lever of change in urban transformation: practical strategies to promote the sustainability of educational climate action programs
Schools are key to urban change, acting as microcosms of society where communities can be empowered to tackle global issues like climate change. Climate Action Education Programmes (CAEPs) equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to become responsible citizens and agents of change. These programs foster collective efficacy, a sense of shared responsibility and belief in the ability to create positive change, by driving individual and community-wide behavioral shifts. This research delves into the strategies employed by the Ecology on Your Doorstep (EayD) project, taking a closer look at its CAEP to analyze how such programs can be effectively designed and implemented to enhance their sustainability and maximize their impact on creating a more environmentally conscious and resilient society.
