The itdUPM is an interdisciplinary center at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) that brings together researchers, professors, and students to address the systemic challenges posed by the transition to sustainability through scientific knowledge and deep, stable collaboration. To this end, we work with various stakeholders—companies, civil society organizations, and public administrations—to develop demonstrators that respond to complex problems that cannot be tackled individually, and we help to generate knowledge around them. To achieve this, we seek to be a meeting place that facilitates dialogue and exchange between academia and various sectors of society. We focus our work on the challenges of transitions in cities and territories, industry, and forced migration, aligning it with international agendas such as the 2030 Agenda, the Paris Agreement, and the Clean Industrial Deal.
